AP Lit

For my last novel, I read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  It was very obvious to see why the piece has been deemed a classic.  I was not sure what I wanted to read next, and I spent a few days going through different books and not really being drawn into the story within the first few pages, so I decided to take a suggestion from my mom and read The Hunger Games, a novel written by Suzanne Collins I have never heard of.  I thought it might be cool to read a book that was not a classic or popular, but then I learned it actually had a significant following and a movie based on the book is even coming out soon.  So yeah, I obviously am very cultured and up to date on the arts (In my defense Megadeth released a new album not too long ago, so I have been a little busy).  So I dropped the other book I was reading, and picked up The Hunger Games.  While I did get through the first chapter today, I find it is better to do a reflection after two chapters in order to get wrapped in the majority of the exposition.  You will be hearing from me shortly.  Check back in Monday or Tuesday because tomorrow my sister gets confirmed.

Thanks for reading and remember.... Up the Irons!

Loutallica?

Well, as most metal heads know Metallica agreed to do a project with Lou Reed.  It recieved high praise from everyone involved with the project, and fans, like myself, were excited, but then the "The View" was released.  To be honest I was not pleased with the track, and I know many metal heads would agree.  Excluding the sections where the tempo picks up and Hetfield is singing, I was not very fond of the performance.  I have been accepting and taken a liking to all Metallica albums and projects (I am even a Load, ReLoad, and St. Anger fan, hate all you want they have some great dirty riffs), but I am not so confident about this "Loutallica" project and am anxiously awaiting the next MetallicA album.
